Ideas for the future
The benefits of being a commercial photographer in London is we get to meet lots of interesting people and hear their ideas for the future. On this occasion whilst also visiting the fantastic Huckletree coworking space in the very cool area of Shoreditch. On this occasion Ixaris invited a group of dedicated tech enthusiasts over one very sunny weekend. They worked away on ideas surrounding open payments, aiming for a breakthrough idea and a shot at the prize money. This commercial event was organised by our good friends at Rainmaking Innovation. Ixaris is a financial payments platform based out of Malta & London.
Shallow depth of field
Being asked to document a project in a venue like this is great, the space provides so many great opportunities to be creative with a camera. This includes things to shoot through like glass or the exposed industrial elements to the design of the space. We love adding foreground detail because it creates a perception of depth. Also when using a very shallow depth of field it can be used to introduce out of focus elements, reflections and colours, these can add an abstract feel to the image or be used to hide a messy area in the frame. The latter is particularly useful for designers so that they have a clean area to overlay a headline or text.
London team photography
It was great having lots of time on this project to get creative and capture some shots that work really well as striking marketing materials for our client. As the hackathon drew to a close we got some groups together for a rare opportunity for Ixaris to have some company team photos and London team photography. Congratulations to all the participants for working hard through the weekend and especially to the winners that had their ideas taken forward and won cash prizes too!
