At Decoy Media we know that the last word anyone wants to hear in January, is the C word… ‘Christmas’. [Blog 1 of 2]
BUT there are a whole load of people (or departments) that have just been handed the task of planning their Christmas party for 2017, so we thought we’d write some blog posts just for you so you can steal a couple of ideas from this festive season. (Plus find the great photography company they used too - contact us today.)
Back in December we photographed the celebrations of international logistics company CHEP who used one of the biggest spaces in Victoria Warehouse Hotel in Manchester for their event. There was a great amount of attention to detail from first arrival towards a clear theme of the party, a Prohibition themed event.
Staff were welcomed by placards protesting prohibition outside and lead through a walkway filled with wooden barrels, muslin sacks and crates of empty glass bottles that were underlit for effect. Reception drinks were in a bar area and the attendees really looked the part, this created some great photo opportunities for candid shots along with posed groups.
Canapes were served on vinyl records as plates, which we thought was a very unique idea. Following this an alarm sounded with an announcement for the guests to make their way into the dining area. This was an impressive room setup with no detail missed, there were benches at the back made from old crates and lots of the outer areas were lit by candlelight alone. A band played the guests in which featured the incredibly talented guitarist Alex Dee.
As the night went on food was served and the guests enjoyed themselves in their surroundings. The Victoria Warehouse Hotel in Manchester is a great space for a corporate event and especially a Christmas party that has a unique theme that fits the venue so well.
