Many people choose to hire a freelance photographer rather than a photography company by default. We believe this is down to most photographers historically working alone, or perhaps a view that choosing freelance photography will be more cost efficient.
We built Decoy Media from the ground up, with growth in mind. With our current team of creatively skilled professionals, we approach a wide variety of projects with confidence and learn from each other as we expand.
Creative problem solving
Although we have similar taste and a certain style, it’s also practical to utilise the varied experience our team brings to the table. Differing backgrounds of music photography, fashion shoots, food projects and portraits, mean we can problem solve creatively when working with our clients.
Mistakes can be unavoidable and we think these are key moments to learn from. As a team, we share stories in order for us to ensure we’re better prepared to face obstacles and issues, if they do crop up again.
Understanding the client
Another benefit is redundancy. As professionals, we always carry spare cameras and other equipment to our jobs. On occasions where a member of the team is ill, or an emergency means they can’t shoot, we’re confident that someone else has an understanding of the client and the project that would be ready to step in.
The perception of a higher cost is frequently incorrect. We know of plenty of independent photographers that charge much more. Finding the right supplier is about matching your requirements and budget with a service level and style that will suit you.
So, next time you need to find someone to take pictures for you, approach your search differently, and think twice about using the phrase ‘freelance photographer Manchester’. A better way to find what you need is to be more specific, such as ‘press photographer Manchester’ or ‘headshot photographer Manchester’.
